Low-key not low-cut is the key to mature ladies wear

Low-key not low-cut is the key to mature ladies wearLow-key not low-cut is the key to mature ladies wear

Author: David

One of the signs of getting older is walking into a clothes shop you used to love and realising that you can no longer wear what it sells! Although this can feel rather sad, really it’s a good thing. There is nothing worse than trying to wear the same outfits you wore at 20 once you reach 45. It is far better to enjoy the fact that your tastes mature with your age and to dress and accessorise accordingly.

That said, it can be rather tricky to find clothes that are age-appropriate as well as occasion-appropriate. It is all too easy to fall into the "jeans and a top" rut, especially when jeans seem to be worn for smarter as well as casual occasions these days. However, all it takes is a little effort and imagination and you can transform your wardrobe with some gorgeous mature ladies wear.

The first point to note is that mature women look better in more classic styles. Let the younger women try to keep up with fashion’s ever changing trends: you can shine in classic lines, feminine colours and timelessly elegant clothes. Those elements are the key to mature ladieswear. Forget extravagant patterns and bright colours; gravitate towards plain colours in cheery and feminine, rather than garish, tones. A word about colour: it is a must. Do not fall into the trap of wearing black and dull colours. Fuchsia, lilac and green are all wonderful colours that are cheerful and classic at the same time, especially on older ladies’ dresses.

Similarly, classic cuts and fits look wonderful on mature women. Think classic tailoring rather than this season’s shapes. Importantly, dress to suit yourself. By now, you should know exactly what suits your shape. Stick with what you know you feel and look fabulous in, whether that’s straight-legged trousers or polo neck tops.

Whatever you choose, remember that the subtle approach is usually best. You may see some mature women clinging onto the low-cut tops of their youth, but this seldom does them any favours. Avoiding the temptation to flash too much flesh is almost always the more glamorous option. Similarly, the clingy clothes of days gone by should be a distant memory. Your outfits now should not be too tight or indeed too baggy: create a ladylike silhouette by wearing clothes that fit you well, yet modestly.

Simplicity suits the mature woman, especially when it comes to accessories. A simple yet stunning necklace will draw admiring glances from those around you; a small pair of matching earrings tops off the effect.

CP- Home to Office Hydration

Courtesy Post:

So often when we are stuck behind a desk all day, we forget to drink a healthy amount of water. There are a few tricks to stay hydrated all day, no matter how engrossing your job is. A continuous supply of energy to help us be efficient through our workday is not an urban legend. At around or before 3 pm on a workday, the efficiency of most of us comes to a halt. This is due to the drain of our energy throughout the workday. The main reason for this drain is not being hydrated. Being hydrated does more than we think it does.

Here are two very useful accessories to keep you hydrated at work too:

Many times when you are feeling your energy slipping at work, you are probably dehydrated. Sipping water as you work throughout the day will keep you hydrated and increase your energy levels. A good alternative to carry your beverages and water to the office are the thermos hydration bottles. These unlike the plastic bottles, is
eco friendly. You will get these for all age groups of adults, teenagers and kids.
Especially for your beverages, the Tully’s backpacker thermos is one that won’t leak in your backpack, purse or bag. Just press the grey button to pop the top when you’re ready to drink. Close, lock and go when you’re through. This will keep your tea/coffee hot for hours! Carry it carefree anywhere. It’s unbreakable too!
If you are still having trouble remembering to drink water, include an electrolyte enhanced drink such as Smart water, vitamin water, or even Gatorade into your day. Electrolytes help your body to hold on to moisture.

Tips to Keep Kids Healthy This Spring from Ashok Wahi

As the warm weather approaches and kids feel the cool breeze on their skin, they may quickly come down with a case of spring fever. Health and Wellness Expert, Ashok Wahi, believes that while spring is the perfect time to engage in some exciting, new family activities, it is also a time for parents to pay a little extra attention to making sure kids are safe, healthy and focused. Wahi, a renowned author and prominent inventor, has compiled five tips that will give parents peace of mind while allowing their kids to get outside and enjoy the season.

1. Protect kids from spring allergies. Springtime activities may increase a child’s exposure to allergens which can spark symptoms such as sneezing or itchy, watery eyes. Wahi suggests trying a drug-free alternative that won’t make your child drowsy like other over-the-counter products. Wahi invented the NasalGuard® technology, which is currently being marketed in the U.S. and Canada as Chloraseptic® AllergenBlock®. Nasalguard is a clear odorless gel that is applied to the outer nose and upper lip and it blocks airborne allergens from entering the nasal passages and stops allergies before they start. He was motivated to develop Nasalguard years ago by a desire to help his own daughter who suffers from cat allergies.

2. Keep kids focused on school until summer vacation through yoga. As the sun is shining and birds are chirping children may become more interested in what is going on outside the classroom windows compared to what is on the blackboard. Wahi, author of 14 different yoga books including Yoga for Kids, suggests that parents should consider the positive impact that yoga can have on keeping children focused both in school and after.

3. Prevent insect bites. Avoid having your child suffer from itchy, painful bug bites by using the appropriate insect repellent. Parents should only use products that are approved for children and should follow the manufacturer’s instructions for removing the repellent when you return indoors.

4. Ensure safe sun exposure. The warm weather will inevitably result in increased sun exposure for children. To ensure safe sun exposure for their kids, consider protective clothing, applying sunscreens with UVA and UVB protection and having kids wear sunglasses. Even when it’s cloudy a child can be sunburned and certain insect repellents can lower the effectiveness of suntan lotion.

5. Practice water safety with children. Beyond never leaving children unsupervised around water, parents should also take some additional precautions to ensure safety around water. Wahi suggests talking to children about the dangers of playing in canals and rivers and teaching the importance of wearing approved safety devices while boating or tubing.
