They’re always a trusted option to fall back on. I have seen women sport black shoes in various styles, with skirts, dresses or jeans and it always looks great.

Chinese laundry shoes are a great brand to own as they come out with the latest styles every season. Investing in three to four basic styles can meet most of your needs. Black leather for formal occasions in ankle length, lace-up or slip-on’s for men always stands out. Women in formal black shoes for work or a pair of black dress shoes/heels (something that can be worn with any formal wear) are sure to make a statement.

CP- Making a Statement in Animal Print

Animal prints are a rage this season. You can see it on red carpet parties, clubs and almost anywhere. You can find them on shoes, bags, accessories, swim wear and of course clothes. Leopard, tiger and zebra prints in particular look chic and elegant. Don’t worry; no animals are hurt in the process. These are mostly taken through digital sources.

Too much of animal print though, will make you look like a fashion victim who’s got it all wrong. For instance, if you have a pair of leopard leggings, then wear it with a contrasting or solid color dress. Black and brown goes well with the original leopard color. If you have a black and white leopard print, then black is always a safer and more stylish alternative.

Cool animal print tops look great for evening wear like clubbing. I personally find them to be too gaudy for day wear. However, half n half or semi-printed animal prints can be worn during the day.

Style a passé outfit by pairing them with animal print scarves. A personal favorite here is wearing a solid black or white dress with a zebra print scarf. Apart from the blacks and whites, you can find these scarves in a combination of blue, red and even green colors.

Now, before you get excited about picking up at least on of each, remember these rules of thumb-

• Never wear more than one animal print on your body (not even two different animal prints)

As I sit here wearing my bright white shoes on a rainy day I am suddenly reminded of the old adage, “you aren’t supposed to wear white after Labor Day.” Not sure where this rule came from or if I should feel embarrassed right now for breaking it I decided to do a little research.





Turns out history buffs are as puzzled over how this tradition started as any average person. Some believe people in the 20’s started wearing white in the summer months because it was simply cooler. Without dark clothes the sun wouldn’t be attracted to them as much and they could stay cooler. Every ‘night out’ outfit should be paired with a fabulous clutch. Clutches come in a variety of colors, shapes, styles, and most importantly, prices. If you are wearing a very basic outfit such as jeans and a cute top, carrying a fancy clutch, like a sequin clutch, can improve your look, taking you from casual to trendy. If you are wearing a simple black dress, adding a clutch with color and a unique design can change your entire look.

Problem for me is, I’m a bag girl. I carry too much stuff in my purse and having to narrow it down to a few small items that fit into a clutch can be difficult at times. You only have limited space, so stick to the basics. 1). Keys 2) License/ID 3.) Cash or at least 1 credit card 4.) Cell phone 5.) Lip gloss and 6.) Powder. The number one problem I always have is fitting in my camera because cameras can be so chunky sometimes. You can either hope to have a friend who is carrying a larger bag or there are many slim digital cameras available that can easily fit into a clutch. Whether you’re headed to a wedding or just out with friends to a lounge, a clutch is a great space saving solution for those must-have-items.
