JBFCS Hosts Spring Benefit, Honoring Russell Simmons, John A Herrmann & David F. Everett

IN NEW YORK, WE ALL BELONG

JBFCS SPRING BENEFIT HONORS RUSSELL SIMMONS, JOHN A HERMANN & DAVID F. EVERETT

The Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services (JBFCS) celebrated its Annual Spring Benefit, Made in New York, fĂȘting the work and support of JBFCS Board of Trustees Chairman, John A Herrmann, JBFCS Vice President David F. Everett and renowned philanthropist, media and business mogul, Russell Simmons, Co-Founder of Def Jam and the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding. Emceed by WNBC Anchor DeMarco Morgan, the special event was held at New York City’s Guastavino’s with such guests as model Katie Rost, Ralph Lauren model Chris Collins, Rabbi Marc Schneier, and socialites Jean Shafiroff, Ann Rapp and Sharon Bush, who enjoyed a cocktail reception and seated dinner. Proceeds benefitted JBFCS’ 175 community-based programs, residential facilities, and day-treatment centers that annually serve over 65,000 New Yorkers-in-need of all faiths, races and cultures.

Addressing the evening’s guests, Executive Vice President & CEO, Paul Levine expressed, “Tonight’s event was a success on so many levels. We raised over $800,000 to support our work, we introduced the agency to a whole new audience of supporters— and we celebrated the outcomes of our work by featuring a number of former and current clients who have overcome their not-insignificant struggles with our help. Many of them have gone on to great things. That is what this agency is all about: helping people put their lives back together and succeeding despite the odds. I am extremely proud of what we do.”

JBFCS has been a trailblazer in treating social problems for more than a century. Today, JBFCS is one of the nation’s largest and most respected nonprofit mental health and social service agencies— every night, over 1,000 individuals call a JBFCS residence home. The work of JBFCS is built upon a network of over 2,200 professionals, including social workers, licensed psychologists, and psychiatrists, as well as a cadre of clinical support personnel in continuing day treatment and residential treatment centers, and a corps of over 2,200 dedicated volunteers. JBFCS provides a comprehensive network of mental health and social services to promote well-being, resilience and self-sufficiency for individuals and families in need in the New York metropolitan area. As leaders in the field of human services, JBFCS mission is clear— 175 social service programs. 1 mission. To get help to those who need it. For further information, please visit www.jbfcs.org.
