CP - Wearable Blue Eyeshadow

Blue eyeshadow

The blue eye shadow look has been a rage since the 60’s. It is indeed one of the most gorgeous looks, but is also very difficult to pull off. You don’t want to go overboard and appear like one of the characters of the movie ‘Avatar’ or look frozen like the 80’s style. However, with the right tricks you can look like a celeb yourself.

Here are a few ways to rock the awesome shade of blue without criticism-

  • Women with wheatish and brown complexions should stick to eggshell blue shades. The color should be applied across the crease and then towards the hooded part. Use black mascara. Brown makes the lashes disappear behind blue.
  • Women with olive complexions can carry off icy or silver-blue shades.

The easiest way to pull of this look is getting a Bare Escentuals Foundation. This will keep the makeup even and in-place for a longer time. Use two shades of blue eye shadow if you have lighter eyes as it creates a better impact. Apply shades of white or ivory on the entire eye area. Layer the blue over this shade of white to make it appear lighter, naturally.

The next step is to balance the look. Add some contrast to avoid the shades from getting very light. You can use a bluish-green or blue eyeliner. An alternative here is to dip a brush in a drop of distilled water. Pick a deep color of blue on it and line it close to the lashes.

For the smoky blue look, first apply a layer of black mascara. Then dazzle a bit of the eye shadow on the lashes too. This creates a spectacular contrast of black and blue.
