Recently I received a generous 3.4 fluid ounce/100ml of QUELQUES FLEURS ROYALE EAU DE PARFUM by the house of HOUBIGANT-PARIS.
I was so elated by this offering from the legendary perfume house that I had to share my experience with you.
QUELQUES FLEURS ROYALE EAU DE PARFUM is not just a beautiful scent; its essence comes from a historical perfume made for royalty over a century ago.
HOUBIGANT was a perfume manufacturer founded in Paris, France by Jean-Francois Houbigant of Grasse in 1775. This French perfumery is the earliest fragrance house still in existence and still family-owned.



It has a history that spans over 200 years of success due to an innovative spirit and keeping their beliefs in perfumery, yet expanding with creations that are loved to this very day.

The Petit Trianon is a small chateau located on the grounds of Versailles France. This grand but small in comparison to the main house was built by the order of Louis XV for his mistress, Madame de Pompadour.

However, two months after being diagnosed with congestion of the lungs, Madame de Pompadour died in 1764. She died four years before the completion of the Petit Trianon.

Louis XVI was so overwhelmed with grief that he gave the palace to his wife, Marie-Antoinette.

The purpose of this historical background prelude is to mention the love that Madame de Pompadour and Marie-Antoinette had for the finer things in life and that would include perfume.

The Petit Trianon was known for the floral scents in the air that covered the entire palace thanks to Marie-Antoinette’s extravagant perfume collection and the memories of the Petit Trianon is captured in PETIT TRIANON Botanical Eau de Parfum by Master Perfumer, JoAnne Bassett.

Although PETIT TRIANON Eau de Parfum was created over 200 years later, Ms. Bassett was able to capture the essence, the history, the love that was lost (Pompadour) and a way for Marie-Antoinette to escape her role as Queen of France. Delicate natural fragrance notes were used to replicate an era in time such as orange blossom absolute, ambrette seed, lavender vera, black spruce and others.

CP - Goo Goo over Lady Gaga’s New Fragrance

No surprise that Lady Gaga was a big winner at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. Her eight moon men were just the icing to the cake, as everyone is buzzing about her unique ensemble choices and her gravity defying hairdos. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Lady Gaga has cut a deal with one of the largest fragrance companies in the world, Coty Beauty. Her celebrity fragrance is set to hit stores in spring 2012. Lady Gaga is said to have signed a licensing deal with Coty.

Some of Coty’s other celebrity fragrance includes Beyoncé Knowles’ Heat Perfume and Sarah Jessica Parker’s “lovely” fragrance. They also bottle fragrances for fashion powerhouses like Marc Jacobs’s Lola Perfume and Vivienne Westwood’s Eau de Toilette.

Talk about the sweet smell of success, both literally and figuratively for Lady Gaga and Coty. This match made in heaven will have you smelling like the Lady herself. No word on how much this celebrity fragrance will cost you, but you can bet that this scent will leave everyone going gaga over you.
