How to Style Your Hair to Make Your Face Look Thinner

How to Style Your Hair to Make Your Face Look Thinner

By Sherry Brister

The right hairstyle can instantly make a woman appear slimmer. If this is your goal, read on. The first thing you will need to do is to identify the shape of your face. Then, have fun experimenting with several styles until you find the perfect hairstyle that not only helps to slim your face, but one that fits your personality and lifestyle as well. Just like black clothes and other slimming style options can make a woman appear slimmer, the right hairstyle can also instantly give the illusion of a thinner you.

An oval shaped face narrows at the chin. A woman with an oval face has a forehead that is wider than her chin, and prominent cheekbones. If you are blessed with an oval face, you can wear almost any hairstyle. Wearing wispy bangs and one length hair is the most flattering way to slim and accentuate an oval face. If your eyes are your best feature, wear blunt bangs that hit at the eyebrow. This bang style will make your eyes pop. Hair accessories can also make a simple hairstyle pop and can make a woman appear slimmer, so pull your hair back and secure it with an ornate barrette or flower.

If you have a round face, you should choose a hairstyle with height at the crown. Wear your hair parted to the side, and layered close to the face. The hair height and layering will help to slim your round face. Make sure to keep your hair past chin length when layering. Also, cut the layers so that they slightly fall on or around the front of your face and neck area, as this will make your face appear slimmer. Wear wispy bangs because straight, blunt bangs can add pounds to a round face.

A heart shaped face has fullness in the cheek area. Wearing curly or wavy hair that is shoulder length is the perfect hairstyle choice to thin and soften the width of a heart shaped face. A high ponytail with wisps will give the illusion of a longer, slim face. Adding volumizing products to your hair will help as well. Once the products are in your hair, add curls by using hot rollers. After the curlers are removed, gently brush your hair so that the loose, wavy curls gently fall around your face and neckline to give the illusion of a thinner you.

Finally, a square face is characterized by a strong jawline and sharp angles. If you are a woman that has a square face, avoid straight hair at all costs, as this will add pounds to your face. Instead, slim your face by parting your hair on the side. Keep your hair shoulder length, and add curls and volume to your hair in order to soften the angles and slim your face even more. Style your hair so that there is volume as well as height at the crown. A high, curly ponytail or bun would be the perfect slimming hairstyle choice for a square face. If you have a square face and you like to wear your hair pulled back, leave some wisps around the face. This will beautifully frame you face, while making you appear slimmer.

Angelina Jolie hairstyle and Latest haircuts

Angelina Jolie hairstyle and Latest haircuts

The hair has become a major concern of both sexes, some say it is only aesthetic fanaticism while others say the hair is healthy, and when it is damaged it is because something in our physical appearance is not quite right. Beyond acceptance, hair form and shows most of our personality, it is not wrong to say that the hair has a similar importance to certain features of our face and our eyes, as it is, without doubt, an important aesthetic part. One of the factors involving his hair is long, we have heard many women as men say "short hair makes my face more rounds" or "if I let myself grow hair will look higher." Although some of these phrases may seem a bit exaggerated are not wrong, the haircut is what will determine our appearance and that will give some features to our figure. Although many do not believe the shape of our face says a lot when choosing a particular haircut, a round face will not have the same angular cut as factions are the ones who determine. For a round face, which is characterized by a lack of angles, you need a special court, which always seeks here is to give it a more stylized. The first thing to avoid is the famous line in the middle, so we can use to replace the lateral line as it encourages a lot more to this kind of faces.

We can also try a hair color gradation styling factions; to hide the faces round should choose haircuts that make the volume on the top of our head, clearing the sides. This type of cut at the same time highlights the neckline highlighting the cheekbones. Straightening our hair can be a good alternative, but requires some work and dedication; however, very marked rollers also tend to be very pleasing to the eye in people with round faces. Finally, for faces with broad forehead, the hair cut should include a fringe, it gives a youthful air.

For the triangular faces, where the face is both wide enough and chin area more closely, you should try hairstyles and cuts that add volume to the bottom of the face. We do this in order to balance the ratio in relation to the forehead, nor should be used in these cases the stripes in the middle, in case of not wanting a haircut; we suggest a side-striped hair and slight layered bangs. For the square face haircuts recommends that allows us to use loose, so soften a little square factions. This is because by having this type of face and wears their hair tied up; these features emphasize the jaw line. The lateral line is also very advisable, because if it is used in the medium to enhance the symmetry and the most salient features.

Latest haircuts
In addition to the cuts that are used in particular situations, i.e. for round faces, triangles and squares, there are those that are less specific and aimed much more to aesthetics work to a "cut for each type of face." He famously known as "Susan" is one that breaks all patterns of asymmetry in the forms, provides versatility almost impossible to get any kind of woman. Make a contrast between the bangs and ends with the compact zone in the upper area of the cut thus giving greater mobility to the hair. Styling this cut just need a hair dryer to give movement and a touch of hair spray on the ends to retrace them and model them.

We also have the hairstyle known as "Angelica", it was inspired by the great goddess Angelina Jolie, is tremendously women whose style is marked and impressive. Volume is notable for having irregular tones best suited to this type of cut are the solid type or intense, the more aggressive the hair will look more favorable.

Choosing A Hairstyle Which Suits The Shape Of Your Face

Choosing A Hairstyle Which Suits The Shape Of Your Face

By April Harvey

No matter how many times you change your hairstyle it just doesn't look or feel right. Sounds familiar? It could just be that the style you have chosen does not compliment the actual shape of your face. In our opinion, the answer lies in identifying what your face shape actually is. Armed with this information it should be easier to choose a hairstyle that compliments your features. We hope the guide below helps you decide what styles should suit you best.

Round shaped face:

If this best describes your face then the intention here will be to choose a style that helps to slim the face. To prevent your face looking too full pick a hairstyle that creates more volume at the crown of the head rather than the sides. Try not to opt for a full fringe or a center parting as this will not compliment your features. If you are used to having a parting then ensure it is off-center to help break up the roundness. Should you prefer a short look then avoid a slicked back look or curls, instead choose a style with waves or with soft movement.

Oval shaped face:

Well if this is your category then you are very fortunate as there are next to no hairstyles that won't suit you! Whether you desire a short, medium or long hairstyle then any of these should suit your features perfectly.

However try to avoid a style that covers your face in some way, as this can give the impression of your face appearing more fuller. Have fun though as you are lucky enough to try just about any hairstyle you wish and still look great.

Heart shaped face:

This best describes those of you whose face appears wider at the forehead tapering down to a small chin. We would advise not to choose a hairstyle that adds height or body to the top of your head. By doing so, this will ensure your chin does not appear smaller than it is. Ideally what we would want to do is actually the opposite, thereby making the jaw line look fuller. This can be accomplished with a shaggy, curlier or wavy style about chin length which would be about the perfect length for your shape.

Square shaped face:

Typically characterised by those of us with a strong jaw line. I would say that I would fit into this category myself and what I look for is a style that softens the look. This can often be achieved by choosing a drawn back look where the shapes of the cheekbones are accentuated. Opting for a style which incorporates waves, curls or layers can also help to distract from the jaw line.

Long or Thin faced shape:

Ideally something like a bob cut is an ideal choice for this type of face. The primary intention is to avoid wearing your hair just straight down. What we are seeking to do is opt for a hairstyle that adds volume to the sides of your head, thereby giving the impression of more width.

On your next visit to your hairdresser discuss with them further the shape of your face. Find out from them their recommended style which they think will suit the shape of your face best. We hope you have found these guidelines useful and hopefully it will help you when next considering a new hairstyle.
