Finding stocking stuffer items is one of the most fun Christmas activities. Choosing small items to fit in a stocking requires thought and some work. This year find some unique stocking stuffer items rather than the usual socks and candy. For women there are a lot of great options.
The gift giver should get just as much fun out of the gift as the recipient. This pleasure comes from seeing the enjoyment on the face of the recipient and knowing that you got them something unexpected that they really love.
Most likely they won't be expecting a stocking on Christmas morning that is full of thoughtful gifts. A stocking is also a great way to still give loved ones a gift when you've agreed not to exchange gifts.
The first step to choosing the right item is to consider the interests of the recipient.
For ladies who like to read:
- Choose a new novel in their favorite genre.
- A magazine in an area of their interest is a great choice too. Visit your local bookstore and you might even find a magazine that she has never heard of but is right up her alley.
- A clip on book light is very handy for reading in bed or in the car.
- A magnifier that fits in the page of the book can help for those books with really small type.
For ladies who need some pampering:
- Bubble bath lotion
- A coupon for an uninterrupted hour so she can relax (meaning you will take care of the kids).
For gadget lovers:
- A stand for her iPad that allows it to stand in landscape or portrait mode.
- A digital photo key fob filled with her favorite photos.
For exercise lovers:
- A new sports bra
- The latest, greatest workout video that you know she has been wanting.
- A fitbit or bodybugg so she can track her fitness all day long.
General gifts to fill up the stocking:
- High quality truffles, visit your local chocolatier and not the supermarket!
- A CD she wants.
- Mini lotions
- Book of games like crossword, word find or sudoku. These are especially good gifts for people who will be traveling as they are great to while away the time.
Occasionally it is fun to hide a valuable gift in the stocking. The recipient won't expect it so this can be a lot of fun.
More expensive items to consider:
- Jewelry is a great small item that can fit into a stocking. Give her a pair of pearl earrings or a gold bracelet.
- Tickets to a show she has been wanting to see would be very appreciated. An Opera, play or concert could be considered.
- A gift certificate for a massage.
No matter what you choose consider who the recipient is when you choose the gift. Pick items she has an interest in.
