How to Encourage Your Man to Step Up His Wardrobe
Author: Magnus
You love your man. He is an exceptional person, caring, giving, and of course he loves you like no one ever has. There is just one area that he does not excel in. He has no sense of style. If you want your man to step up his wardrobe and start wearing men's suits, ties, and other more stylish ensembles, here are a few things you can do.
Men's Suits- Encouraging Him to Dress Better
You've seen his side of the closet, and the best term for it is ‘disaster area.' If you want to clean out some of those items and fill it with new, better looking clothes, here is what you need to do.
- Take Charge- Get into his closet and pick out every single piece of clothing with a stain, rip, or tear in. While you are in there, check the sizes of all his shirts, men's suits, and pants. If there are a wide range of sizes, chances are many of them don't even fit him. Sit him down and display each one. If you point out each of the flaws, you may be able to talk him into throwing out ruined items and giving away clothes that do not fit him. As you clean out his closet, he will have no choice but to purchase new clothes.
- Involve Him- If you can, convince him to come with you to the department store to pick out new clothes. Of course, many men will balk at this thought, so you may have to use a little imagination. Instead of going to the store, try shopping for his new clothes online. He will feel much safer looking at men's suits and ties on the internet. Stick to high end fashion stores and avoid showing him sites with unstylish clothing.
- Quality Men's Suits- Start With Shoes- Has he been wearing the same pair of dress shoes for years? If his shoes look frayed and worn, it is time to pick out new ones, and perhaps, time to upgrade. Shoe shopping can help get you off on the right foot, so to speak. Some men like buying new dress shoes for work even if they abhor shopping for other items of clothing.
- Replace It- Does he have a favourite dress shirt, but you noticed that it has stains down the front? Don't simply throw it out. Purchase a new one for him to replace it. This way, you aren't getting rid of his favourite items of clothing; you are simply replacing them with new, more stylish versions.
- Don't Criticize- Nagging him about his wardrobe and criticising him is not going to make this process any easier and will most likely bring it to a screeching halt. No one wants to change with someone breathing down their neck. Encourage him to take steps to fix his wardrobe and be patient as he adjusts to the concept of style and fashion.
- Explain the World of Fashion- There is a good chance he will be stuck in his old ways and won't want to give up his jacket and dress pants from the eighties for a more modern suit and tie. Don't be discouraged though. Take the time to explain to him how times have changed. Let him know that while that was the epitome of style 30 years ago, he won't be able to power his way through the corporate world wearing it now. If he still isn't sure, research his favourite actors and show him examples of them dominating the screen in their luxury suits.
If your man has a little trouble when it comes to fashion, don't worry. With the right tools and a little encouragement, you can have him wearing chinos, blazers, and even men's suits before you know it. Cheap Men's Suits
