Find the Right Perfume or Cologne for This Fall

With Summer behind us, we say goodbye to summertime perfume and cologne. Autumn brings with it a different feel entirely. While Summer perfumes may be light, airy and citrusy, the smell of Fall perfumes is somewhat heavier, with some added spice and smokiness. To find a fragrance fitting for Autumn, look for something that reminds you of your favorite Fall smells, like roses, jasmine and musk.
Scent is a very powerful sense. It can be extremely attracting or otherwise very repelling. Choosing the right perfume or cologne can be somewhat overwhelming when there is so much to choose from. It can take hours of smelling just to choose the right fragrance for you. It would be wise to take a friend with you to help you choose, since your nose may get tired after smelling a lot of perfumes. Take a couple hours and go perfume smelling. Make sure to take a whiff of coffee in between perfumes, as that will cleanse your palate. Why not take your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband on a date to Macy's and sample some scents? It may end up being an aphrodisiac for the both of you.
My personal favorite brand name perfume is Bvlgari. Since I started wearing perfume as a teenager, this was always the one that turned heads. I have experimented with many fragrances over the years, but this one always had people asking me, "Excuse me, what are you wearing?" Just about every department store has a fragrance section. Go to Macy's or Sephora and ask the sales lady which perfumes are new for the Fall. Depending on how much you want to dish out on your new Fall fragrance, Macy's will have more bang for the buck, but Sephora will have a more high-end selection. Another idea is to decide what you want and then order it online. Perfume and cologne is also a time-honored gift, enjoyed equally by men and women. Surprise your loved one with a gift wrapped bottle of their favorite Autumn scent. You can also look through People magazine and see what perfume or cologne your favorite stars wear or designed.
Many people like to have different perfumes that they wear for different occasions, or even for different times of the day. A woman on her way to work make wear a perfume that is more light, and then change into something a little more heavy when she goes out for dinner later that night. Always be careful not to wear too much, though, as an overpowering scent can be a major turn off. A good rule of thumb is to shpritz yourself lightly 20 minutes before going out. Also it's good not to spray the perfume on yourself directly. Spray into the air, and then walk into it as the scent falls on you.
