Autumn is a great time of year to have a short break, the country side is a wash with red and yellow as the leaves turn and start to fall. Think carefully about the type of short break you are after as the weather can be starting to get rather cold.


Scotland is an amazing part of the UK and there is so much to see and do it will suit most people looking for a short break this autumn. Edinburgh and Glasgow are great for city breaks, or perhaps if you are after something a little quietter you can head to the highlands and rent a cottage. There are many golf courses for a relaxing break and also spa's for those wishing to be pampered.


The perfect way to recharge your batteries is a short break in the country and what better countryside than Wales. The Snowdonia region in Wales is stunning, with spectacular mountains and beautiful coastlines. There are also amazing attractions such as castles to check out so plenty to do, especially if you're bringing children with you.


The Isle Of Wight is a great place to spend a short break. There are 60 miles of unspoilt scenery and a wealth of attractions, meaning it is perfect for everyone. If you're feeling adventurous you can hire a bike and cycle around to check out the attractions. The Isle of Wight is easy to get to with regular ferries from Southampton and Portsmouth. There are campsites and plenty of B&B's or cottages to hire.


If you're after a short break in the sunshine, escaping the cool, grey temperatures of the UK, a relaxing break on the Mediterranean. Malta boasts hot temperatures for the most part of the year and is rich in culture and history. There are an abundance of beautiful natural attractions such as the blue lagoon and the steep white cliffs of the coastline.


To make your pounds stretch a little further and still enjoy a short break abroad, Riga is an excellent city to visit. The old town is a wonderful place to people watch and get caught up in the amazing Art Noveau style architecture. A rich history with many educational museums to teach visitors of the soviet occupation and hardships that gripped the country. Riga is a vibrant, modern, fast-evolving city with lots to offer.
