With Halloween around the corner, are you planning to take your dogs out trick-or treating in doggie costumes? There are a few aspects that you should consider when you are getting him ready.

Most pets do not like to be dolled up so unless your dog is very amenable and good natured, do not choose an elaborate costume. Ensure that his Halloween outfit does not to cover his back side and that it allows him to walk comfortably. For example, the dog hot dog costume shown here is a popular choice because of its simplicity and yet it showcases one’s sense of humor.Biker dog pet costume

Other popular dog costumes for Halloween include the dog bee costume and the lobster dog costume. If you want your pet to stand out and look hip, opt for one like the biker pet dog costume.

Get your pet accustomed to wearing the Halloween costume in advance. Start training him a few weeks before the big day with the help of his favorite treats. First put the costume on him for a short while and give him a treat and praise. Soon he will associate the treats with the doggie costume and become excited at the prospect of wearing it. Continue the process over the next few days until he feels comfortable in the costume.

On Halloween, remember to take your pet on a leash. This will ensure that if he gets scared of the masked children, you have control over him. Don’t forget to carry dog treats with you to keep him good spirits!
