CP- Guide of Fashion Styles for Young Professionals

Courtesy Post

Formal fashion styles for the workplace are very important for young professionals. This is especially important when making a first impression. Whether in your first interview or you first couple weeks on the job it is necessary to set a precedent on what kind of person you are. Obviously, different companies have different dress codes, or no dress code at all. But this post is for the individuals who do need to dress to impress everyday.

For men it is important to have a navy blue 2-button suit. This is the first. Buy you should make for your professional wardrobe. The color evokes power and is ideal for an interview. For men, this two-button suit from Ralph Lauren offers a lean silhouette with a narrow lapel and is made with extra-fine worsted wool. The navy suit works well with either a black or brown lace-up dress shoe. Santoni makes the “Elliston” Oxford out of Italian leather. It comes in brown or black and is a very high quality shoe. It’s important to keep your shoes clean as well. One of the first things people see when they look at you are your shoes and if they are dirty it can set off a bad impression. Other important things to remember are:

· Keeping a clean appearance i.e. cut hair, trimmed facial hair, trimmed nails, nice accessories

· Making sure you don’t have bad breathe

· Wearing cologne, but not too much

· Make sure your shirts are nicely pressed

For women many of the same things ring true. A navy blue suit also works well for women. The Tropic Wool Striped jacket from Ann Taylor is tailored well and has a hint of stretch to add comfort. It also features subtle pinstripes to add a bit of flair. It can be paired with a pencil skirt or navy pants, also from Ann Taylor. Pair that with the black Joan and David medium pumps and you’ll be good to go.

Young people getting out into the workforce need to remember to stay professional in all their actions. Just remember that something that makes up a lot of someone’s first reaction to you is the clothes you are wearing and the fashion styles you choose to follow.
