From Faux Pas to in Vogue: Socks with Sandals

Courtesy Post

Wearing socks and sandals has been one of the biggest known fashion faux pas for ages. However, fashion’s hottest designers decided to turn that faux pas into the hottest trend this year has seen. Rest assure that the sock trend doesn’t end this summer. You can keep wearing your fashion socks through winter with these easy tips.
Since we’ve been trying to avoid socks with sandals and ankle boots you should take these points into consideration. Wearing bunched socks can significantly shorten the appearance of legs. So if you don’t have model stems or defined ankles this can be tricky but not impossible. If you don’t have legs for days try wearing thigh high or mid calf socks over stockings or tights.
If you are looking for a few sock pointers keep color in mind. As a general sock rule you want to make sure there is contrast. As a rule of thumb (or toe) pair muted grays with light browns and tans, creams with pastels, and dark grays and blacks with chocolate browns.

Try experimenting with sock thickness as a means to go from an edgy look to a romantic feminine look. For a comfortable fall day look pair a cowl sweater dress with sheer black tights, gray thigh high socks and an edgy peep-toe boot like this combat inspired Reece Black Peep Toe Bootie alla Kelsi Dagger. If you are prepping an ultra feminine look for an evening out pair a pastel pink dress with bunched light brown socks over grey thigh high socks and champagne wedges.
The sock and sandal trend is all about chic confidence. Texture plays a big role in statement socks and this fall it has the ability to transform your everyday looks.
