A little history on cocktails:
Cocktails were first introduced in the 1920's by American bartenders. They became famous during the 20's because they were prohibited, at first alcohol was of low quality therefore bartenders started mixing the spirits with various flavorings to hide the poor taste of liquor. As years had gone by it put an end to it's prohibition and at the same time cocktails had lost it's fame and popularity. Luckily in the recent years cocktails seem to have risen to it's peek of fame and today there are thousands of cocktails available for every occasion.
